Woke up early

So I unintentionally woke up this morning at 8:30.  What was I thinking? Well, to tell you the truth I think I was confused.  Confused that it was actually 8:30 AM and not 8:30 PM.  I was confused because I went to bed at around 1:30 last night.

So instead of moping around all day, I went ahead and fertilized the grass outside.  Hopefully this will cut away the weeds and bring in the nice green grass.  Our lawn needs it, no doubt about it.  What I found to be relaxing is to listen to something on my iPod.  I wish I had a better iPod.  I should go and buy one, but I’d rather save that money for other things like a house, and/or a new computer.

I know I do not _need_ a new computer per say, but I do need to upgrade to ddr3.  I’ve been eyeballing the Core i7, but it has not gone down in price yet.  EVGA also does not have a NForce board for the i7 yet.  I will either get a nice system soon with a 790i SLI, GTX 260, and all the bells and whistles.  I am indeed envious of Tricky’s new computer, but in a good way.  He really needed a new rig.  I am glad he went with my suggestions and went with Intel.

Truth is, the only thing I trust is a EVGA/Intel/Nvidia combo.  Anything having to do with ATI/AMD I have trouble trusting.  EVGA makes it easy to decide what a good product is.  Nvidia has never given me trouble, aside from the random overclocking problems I would run in to (RIP 7900 GS).  I just wanted to play some Age of Conan is all! Right now I am running something that is relatively decent.  680i SLI with an Intel Core2 E8400, 2 GB DDR2 800, and a NVIDIA 9800 GT+.  Runs pretty smoothly and plays all the games I need.  I thought about going SLI with the 9800 GT, but that will just be burning money and allocating resources where it isn’t needed.

The lan party planning is coming together.  Old Spice turned us down for deodorant samples.  That sucks, but I didn’t expect to get anything back from them.  Valve is sending a good amount of swag to give away.  Valve is pretty awesome about helping us out for LAN parties.  We can buy $2 cafe accounts for 24 hours if we need them.  I think if we buy 15 or so, we can sell them for $2 and make back the money we spent for the accounts.  These cafe accounts have _every_game_installed_ that is on steam.

Hopefully everything will go smoothly and we can have more events in the future.  If we get a good client base, we can have a real kick ass event in some bigger venues.  Maybe F7/ALF will become what my dream is, the “South-East Computer Gaming Conference”.  We’ll see!

For now, farewell! I have a day ahead of me and it is only 10:21 AM.
