Rap Chop!

Posted in General Crap on April 30th, 2009 by f0rkz

So today was pretty good.  Cleaned a lot of crap in the office.  Took the trash out which was a pain.  Although strangely enough, I feel relaxed doing it.  Going down and listening to the roars of Atlanta makes me feel human.  Its amazing how much sound we actually make!

Got game testing tomorrow.  I can’t wait to play Global Agenda again! Speaking of games, I kinda blew up at the HLDS mailing list today.  I had a little fun pointing out how ridiculous this Patrick guy is.  He literally sits there waiting for msleeper to post, and then finds whatever reason to flame him.  It gets a little spammy, and honestly I am a little tired of it.  His argument was that I am gay for msleeper.  Great argument, seeing as I actually have a girlfriend… But whatever! Pricks will be pricks.

I am in a little bit of a bad mood.  The slap chop video made me smile a little but honestly, I am just done with pricks…

A really good day

Posted in General Crap on April 29th, 2009 by f0rkz

Today was a complete success! Work was fun, got a lot of good stuff done.  Looks like someone mistakenly shipped us network gear again.  We think its another fluke accident.  For now, it sits in a box.

The great part of today was alpha testing global agenda.  Now, I can not tell you anything about the game.  I can tell you that this game will blow the pants off of any competition out there.  When I can say more I will.  For now, I will just smile knowing I was one of the few that got to play this great game.

Penguin drove me today.  It was good catching up with him.  I consider him to be one of my good friends.  He is the type of person that wont stab you in the back for personal gain.  I admire that in a person.

The lan party planning is going great! HighRez studios will be coming.  Not sure quite yet what they are going to be doing while they are there, but it will be a good time nonetheless! They are all really cool people and I am glad to be working with them in the upcoming lan party.

On the flip side, I am feeling a lot better today.  Not exactly 100% yet, but I am getting there.  Those antibiotics are working well.  I am also glad they gave me the albuterol.  The medicine is helping a lot.

My little sister got confirmed last night.  It was a little strange seeing the archbishop last night.  He was a strange man.  I do admire how well he did Mass.  Afterward, I saw him in his non-archbishop clothing and saw he had a foot cast on.  Turns out he had pulled a tendon in his foot.  What a trooper!

Sorry this post is a little short.  I have some major writers block.  I need to go play some games.

Edit: Is it just me or does every trance music video have some insanely hot girl in it?

Someone has a case of the Mondays

Posted in General Crap on April 27th, 2009 by f0rkz

Happy Monday everyone! Indeed it has been quite the Monday for me! Woke up at about 5:40 and showered.  I was not feeling well from allergies the day before.  I was going to go ahead and take the day off if I was not feeling up to the task of work.  I felt pretty good, so I stumbled into the shower as I always do in the morning.  Waking up for me is a pretty daunting task lately.  Although, it seems I am able to wake up early in the morning on my days off.

Soon after, sheff came over and we headed out to work.  We had our usual morning conversations, me complaining about something and him spreading the deep knowledge of things unknown to my mind.  I always enjoy our intellectually stimulating conversations.  There is always something new to talk about.

One of which discussed today was a story I heard about yesterday from my family.  A new earth has been found approximately 20 light years away! I don’t know if you realize, but 20 light years is mighty close in the grand scale of things.  This means there may be hope for mankind after all! This is, before we render ourselves extinct due to war or disease.  That thought aside, this discovery was made in my lifetime.  This is indeed an amazing discovery.  In essence, the astronomers responsible for finding this planet should be rewarded!

As the day went on, I started feeling worse.  My sinus passages slowly stormed my hypothetical bastille, revolting and throwing breathing far from its throne. We found our differences, me hacking and wheezing all day, he just simply sitting up there smiling at me.  This was all true until I discovered a little invention called the “Neti Pot”.  Binx told me about this and how it helps conepup’s allergies.  I thought I would give it a try.  This indeed worked marvels! This tea pot like device is designed to use gravity to flush your sinuses out.  Ever blow your nose only to find it filled back up with the sputum ready to ruin your day? Me too… This Neti Pot easily remedies this.  It simply pours water and a cleaning solution through one nostril and out the other, taking anything with it! “What a great invention!” I thought.

After work, things were not so forgiving… Things got worse.  I had a fever spike up to 99.6, I felt really tired, and just felt sick in general.  I laid down and watched a nice episode of House MD.  I love that show.  Every time I watch it, I think of what it would be like being a sarcastic doctor that everyone had to listen to.  I quickly started feeling worse and went back upstairs to contemplate sleep.

Obviously sleep did not win, entirely.  I sit here typing away at my keyboard thinking of all the possible grammatical errors this blog may have.  I then think to my self, who the hell cares? This is my life and my words.

I leave you in good spirits for the world.  We have found a new planet… Earth at least has a future plan B…

Even though my dreams of being able to tell my grandkids I was a man to walk among the stars are far fetched, I will at least be able to look at so many amazing pictures of our universe.

Pictures of my Car

Posted in General Crap on April 25th, 2009 by f0rkz

I figured why not! Roxxy needs a bath very badly as well as a nice wax job.  Thats GA pollen for you!

Here is a nice shot of my baby sitting in the driveway.

The front side of the car.

The back and right side of Roxxy

Here is the trunk.  As you can see, it actually has plenty of room.  The back seats fold down and create a massive cargo area.

Here’s the pilot seat.  The Pioneer stereo that comes with the car is already really nice.

The car has a very compact engine.  I assume its quite a daunting task to work on this car.  Man! I need to wipe that engine down!  Pollen here sucks!

Anyhow, I hope you like these.  I am usually not in the mood for taking photos.  Since I am feeling a little different today, here ya go!

Woke up early

Posted in General Crap on April 25th, 2009 by f0rkz

So I unintentionally woke up this morning at 8:30.  What was I thinking? Well, to tell you the truth I think I was confused.  Confused that it was actually 8:30 AM and not 8:30 PM.  I was confused because I went to bed at around 1:30 last night.

So instead of moping around all day, I went ahead and fertilized the grass outside.  Hopefully this will cut away the weeds and bring in the nice green grass.  Our lawn needs it, no doubt about it.  What I found to be relaxing is to listen to something on my iPod.  I wish I had a better iPod.  I should go and buy one, but I’d rather save that money for other things like a house, and/or a new computer.

I know I do not _need_ a new computer per say, but I do need to upgrade to ddr3.  I’ve been eyeballing the Core i7, but it has not gone down in price yet.  EVGA also does not have a NForce board for the i7 yet.  I will either get a nice system soon with a 790i SLI, GTX 260, and all the bells and whistles.  I am indeed envious of Tricky’s new computer, but in a good way.  He really needed a new rig.  I am glad he went with my suggestions and went with Intel.

Truth is, the only thing I trust is a EVGA/Intel/Nvidia combo.  Anything having to do with ATI/AMD I have trouble trusting.  EVGA makes it easy to decide what a good product is.  Nvidia has never given me trouble, aside from the random overclocking problems I would run in to (RIP 7900 GS).  I just wanted to play some Age of Conan is all! Right now I am running something that is relatively decent.  680i SLI with an Intel Core2 E8400, 2 GB DDR2 800, and a NVIDIA 9800 GT+.  Runs pretty smoothly and plays all the games I need.  I thought about going SLI with the 9800 GT, but that will just be burning money and allocating resources where it isn’t needed.

The lan party planning is coming together.  Old Spice turned us down for deodorant samples.  That sucks, but I didn’t expect to get anything back from them.  Valve is sending a good amount of swag to give away.  Valve is pretty awesome about helping us out for LAN parties.  We can buy $2 cafe accounts for 24 hours if we need them.  I think if we buy 15 or so, we can sell them for $2 and make back the money we spent for the accounts.  These cafe accounts have _every_game_installed_ that is on steam.

Hopefully everything will go smoothly and we can have more events in the future.  If we get a good client base, we can have a real kick ass event in some bigger venues.  Maybe F7/ALF will become what my dream is, the “South-East Computer Gaming Conference”.  We’ll see!

For now, farewell! I have a day ahead of me and it is only 10:21 AM.
